Day 3 -- Union Rescue Mission

We sent two teams to Union Rescue Mission. The first team had to go early, really early, to serve breakfast and prep for lunch. Fifteen team members left the church at 4:30am!

We met Stan at Union Rescue Mission. He was celebrating his one year anniversary of sobriety. The team sang Happy Birthday to him! Currently, he works at the mission, serving others. He has a book that will be out around Christmas called "Stan, Stan, the Hurricane Man" all about his experiences and how God has changed his life.

Two teams went to Union Rescue Mission for the lunch shift. One group cleaned the gym.

They were really happy while they worked, too :)

The also cleaned the walls and doors.

Another group worked in the kitchen, preparing food for future meals and serving lunch.

They even cracked about 1,000 eggs for the next day's breakfast! That filled four 20 liter buckets!!

It was especially hard to get out any egg shell that fell in!

Our team worked hard today to serve food to people who needed it. We saw kids give without any thought of themselves. God was present in this place, in every room, on every wall. The big g God was proclaimed with every cucumber chopped, egg cracked, sandwich made, and meal served!
